I taught Sunday School for over 10 years, and there are many different projects that kids love. One type of craft that is consistently popular is the replay craft. The craft that lets you retell the story on your own later on. It lets your imagination take over and have fun with it. That’s what this Noah’s ark craft is, you can take it home after the Bible lesson and have fun playing and retelling Noah’s ark.

Noah’s ark puzzle game printable, envelope, craft sticks (though I’m old enough I still call them popsicle sticks), gluestick (it’s almost time for me to buy this again)
Semi-unrelated topic, why I love retelling crafts and projects
You may have noticed I’m putting out more retelling crafts or sensory bins you can use to retell projects.
Retelling stories helps you learn it better.
I’d say it’s more complicated, but that’s it. Retelling a story helps you learn it, and you know a child has truly learned a lesson when it becomes part of their playtime.
A few years ago we read the Belgariad series, and at one point while we listened to it as we drove around the kids put together LEGO mini-figures to represent all of the major characters. This showed up recently in my memories, so it was on my mind.
Putting together your Noah’s ark craft
Obviously, the first thing you need to do is cut out all the pieces. That’s going to take some time all by itself. So, if you’re needing a time-suck in your Sunday School, this is definitely going to do that.
Glue the ark onto the envelope. Then start gluing each animal onto the popsicle sticks (obviously this will make them completely unable to be used for the Noah’s ark puzzle game)
Once they are glued onto the popsicle sticks and it’s dry (if you’re using a gluestick it’s just a moment or so), you can store them in the envelope on the back of the ark. Though, I will say once you have all of them in there it doesn’t store so well, so you might want to use a 6X9 envelope.
Now it’s all ready to play!
